Where everyone's a winner!
The Bally Game Show is one of the last games to use Williams system 11. Produced by Bally after the company was aquired by Williams so it has similarities in cabinet design, flippers, and mechanisms. The production run for this game was ~2700 (aprox).
The game was designed as a take on television game shows where the big prizes are automobiles, TVs, etc. It is a 2 ball multiball.
The playfield on mine is in excellent condition. It is still covered almost entirely with factory installed mylar which is only lifting in a few small places. Therefore, for now I will leave it until I become ambitious and want to go through the ordeal of clearcoating. With only 2 small cracks in ramps, and some touchups on the cab, overall its about a 9 out of 10.
As seen below a notable feature of this game is the applause light made to represent the ones used in a television studio when filming in front of a live audience. It blinks when you win items, start multiball, or win the showcase bonanza. The back picture is an actual painted on backglass, dispite the fact that the use of translites (thick sheets of plastic with an artwork picture behind a plain piece of glass) had started in 1986. It may have been used because the artists wanted a mirror effect around the game name.
